Now, cyber criminals are trying their hands in browser crypto-jacking. A recent advisory from a renowned security research firm has asked the users to check whether computers/ laptops are slowing down drastically or behaving unusually.
The researchers found that a new tactics has been used by the cyber crooks to mime Monero crypto-currency with the help of CPU resources. Here the criminals load a desired script in the web browser. It gives a unique key-enabling feature to earn this Monero currency whenever they visit the websites. It is also found that crypto-jacking scenarios are quite similar to that of JavaScripts that are embedded in webpage of compromised websites. As a result, the more time spent on the corrupted webpages can lead to consumption of more CPU cycles.
A stringent warning has been issued to the computer users who are running more with no specific reasons. They need to check their CPU usage regularly to know if their connection has been compromised to any suspicious websites. Sudden slow-down of the system is the most relevant possibility in this regard. The CPU usage can be followed as below:
Access ‘Task Manager’ on Windows/ ‘Activity Monitor’ on Mac/ ‘Top’ on Linux command line. Then select ‘end task’ and ‘kill/ terminate’ respectively.
Thus, it is advisable to stay alert according to situation and look out for ambiguous things while using any computing device. Sometimes referring to something that is too good to be true should be scrutinized minutely before acting on it. Deploying a right security tool to protect your system and CPU can help to stay safe. Cautious approach before taking any action can help you to protect your system, personal data and unwelcome expenses.

Informative post. Best explained about the precaution to take which enhances the security of the system. But, I believe in using 360 antivirus too as we never know the resource of attack.
